Midnight Controls Mod Guide

Start with default controls, confirm the controller is detected, and tune one setting at a time.

Beginner configuration

Test movement, camera, jump, attack, use, inventory, and hotbar navigation. If all basic actions work, adjust sensitivity next.

Advanced configuration

Use dead-zone tuning to reduce drift. Remap controls that conflict with muscle memory, and test menu navigation in both vanilla and modded screens.

Best practices

  • Keep separate profiles for major Minecraft versions.
  • Document custom mappings before resetting settings.
  • Test updates in a copied profile first.
  • Keep a keyboard available for chat, commands, and complex mod menus.

Performance tips

Controller mods are rarely the main rendering bottleneck. If performance is poor, review render distance, shaders, resource packs, and the rest of your mod stack before assuming input handling is responsible.
